On April 1, 2026, two exchange students from our partner institution, Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), arrived at Sophia University. In addition to these two students, one more E-JUST student who began a one-year exchange program in the previous fall semester will continue their studies, bringing the total number of E-JUST exchange students at our university in the Spring 2026 semester to three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the orientation, participants received an overview of the SAFICs (Sophia-Africa Future Initiatives for Collaborations) program available to exchange students, including the certificate program, the practical training component \u201cSADO Project,\u201d and the core course SAFICS (Sophia-Africa Future Initiatives for Collaborative Solutions), from the Vice President Professor Iijima and coordinators in charge of the program. The students actively engaged by asking questions, showing great enthusiasm and anticipation for the activities ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the day following the orientation, as part of their practical learning experience, the students visited \u201cTODAtte?\u201d\u2014a facility operated by Toda Corporation. Located within the company\u2019s newly established headquarters completed in 2024, the museum offers an interactive experience where visitors can see, touch, and learn about the past, present, and future of the construction industry. The students gained insights into the history of Toda Corporation as well as its environmentally conscious initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In particular, the core-wall seismic isolation structure of the building attracted strong interest from the students, who asked many thoughtful and engaged questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to their academic coursework, the students will continue to learn about Japan from multiple perspectives through both on-campus and off-campus exchanges and practical activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
